A Lot in Common

The people of All Peoples are very unique.
The people of Milwaukee, of the state of Wisconsin, heck...the people of THE WORLD are unique.

I love the front cover of the Sunday bulletin at All Peeps.  It reads:
ALL PEOPLES young old single partnered divorced poor parent grandparent queer pierced tattooed plain green short tall black brown fat yellow white thin straight doer employed unemployed cranky nice gay liberal radical rich married conservative lesbian angry using recovering renter saint seeking ill bisexual transgender athletic kid homeowner red clumsy homeless sinner ambitious content devout balanced watcher well...YEAH, WE REALLY MEAN ALL.

In the Sojourners article, "Echoes of the Poor People's Campaign," the author ponders what would the state of poverty would look like had MLK Jr. and Bobby Kennedy had not been assassinated He also advocates for a closer look at poverty, helping children in his classroom (and anyone, really) see the common struggles and band together for positive change.

Group 1 Crew, "A Lot in Common"

Lord, creator of so many unique things, help us to recognize and embrace the uniquenesses of ourselves and of others and use them for the good of all your creation. Amen.
