24 - growing and shrinking

day 24 (May 20)
in haiku

two happy things, here
in a place I'm often found,
my small apartment.

by rising early,
I made the dish pile shrink,
leaving a clean sink.

I did these even before I left for school this morning!

my transplanted mint,
which looked dead for quite a while,
is showing new growth.

we think it was using all its energy on root
structure since transplanting, hence the
lack of above-soil growth.

it is in these things,
both the growing and shrinking,
I find happiness.
