day 75 (July 10)
This evening I enjoyed a variety of landscapes.
Some were painted by my friend and art teacher colleague from my morning school. He has a display of pieces up at the county administration building. We went to the opening tonight - they capture the beauty of this area with such vivid and rich colors. It was really fun to see his work, as I've really only seen the students' stuff in the art room at school.
This is just the promotional postcard.
We then had dinner at a little place on the island right along the Mississippi,
and followed things up with a well-attended concert in the park.
One of my teacher friends was part of the Irish band that played,
and their drummer has an electric drumset set up in a pair of plaid shorts. COOLEST THING EVER.
