my end-of-year thank you gifts to my students:

It's been fun watching concert videos, Stomp, Kid President, and other things while enjoying some celebratory popcorn.
My last few days with my afternoon schools' kids were as follows:
2nd grade: narrating a folk tale about Senor Coyote using unpitched percussion instruments
3rd grade: this Zumba dance and playing a beat-keeping game
Kindergarten: sing along days, bringing all 50 or so songs from all year out of "retirement" (see the Song Wall below). It was rather amusing singing songs about Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day when it's June and 80 degrees outside.
