my father's garden

For as long as I can remember,
my parents have cultivated an incredible garden in our yard.
We've lived at our house for over 20 years now,
plenty of time to create an amazing outdoor space.
Dad does a lot of the work - the yard is his baby - and Mom helps out too.

While home this weekend, I took some pictures of this masterpiece.
Not everything is in bloom, but you can get a basic idea of the outdoor beauty.

Irises are my mom's favorite.
Our above-ground pond has gone through
lots of change over the years.  Here's its
newest permutation with this cool
pottery-fountain-thingy.

That was my swing set growing up! It's moved to a different side
of the yard and has had wood replaced. It's been handy to have
a 'hand-me-down' swing set for my brother to use, too.

This arch is like a gateway to a magical and giant
outdoor garden room.
I LOVE my backyard.
